Signature Gathering Saturday December 16

I will be collecting signatures this Saturday morning, 12/16, from 7-11am in the Pinnacle Peak parking lot. Cutting Through the Process - Sassi Restaurant Site Redevelopment

I'm genuinely interested in making this a fact-based movement. I don't like hyperbole, rumor, or innuendo, and will always strive to keep this effort on a level-headed, fact-based standing so that we all have the facts on our side and as a guide. That being said, several folks have reached out to the City of Scottsdale, and below is the best synopsis I've seen so far as to the city's process. It was great meeting everyone on Wednesday, and we appreciate all of the signatures and the time you made to sign our petition. Someone came by and signed, and as she was leaving, uttered these words, "If they get rid of the desert, there won't be any reason to live here." I think that is a great tagline, and I agree with the sentiment to an extent. We all moved here, in all likelihood, because of the desert, the beauty, the remoteness of the area. It's funny, I see people complain about having to drive to A.J.'s for groceries, or to Sprouts or Safeway. They seemingly wish to have grocery located closer to the area, but if you look at those sites, you don't just get a grocery store. You also get a strip mall atmosphere, and the kind of constant traffic that I presume we moved here to avoid. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but that is precisely why we moved here.
